Ana Alises is a Ph.D. Candidate at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) where she got a M.Sc. in Civil Engineering in the Transportation area awarded with honordistinction for achieving the maximum grade allowed in several courses.

After her BSc. degree in Civil Engineering from UPM, she began to work as a research engineer in the Port Research Laboratory of UPM where she worked in small scale physical models for maritime works management and performance, technical reports and post-processing tools programs. During this period her research activity was focused on risk and reliability assessment for maritime infrastructure management.

Recently she was appointed research at the Transport Research Centre (TRANSyT) to work with Professor Jose Manuel Vassallo. Now, her research activity is focused on freight transport modelling.
